Why It’s Important to Show Others Your Appreciation
I learned that it is important to show appreciation to others in the work world. I often look for Singapore corporate gifts to give to clients here because the sentiment is very much appreciated by clients. It is one thing to simply thank someone, but giving a gift shows that you are paying attention to a particular situation or person and care enough to offer something to them that shows your care about who they are and what they like. This is no different than in anyone’s personal life where things are given for birthdays, holidays or just to show someone that you care about your relationship and them.
I really like to pay attention to what people say that they enjoy doing in their free time. This is the same thing I do with my wife or my kids. Although, I do have to admit that my wife is even better at paying attention to what our children like because she is home all day with them while I am at work. I may hear about something that they love, but kids can be finicky and what they like this week may not be what they are interested in at all two months from now. Since she is with them each day, she knows when their tastes begin to suddenly change and they’ve moved on to something else. However, there are some things that they stick with long term. Those are the things that she makes me aware of.
If a client mentions offhand that he played a nice game of golf over the weekend or that he went camping with kids, I make sure to make note of that. I generally keep a file on my cell phone that allows me to update it with quick things. I can easily retrieve the information when it’s time for me to purchase a thank you gift for that person.
