The doors have to be closed completely and secured before the elevator will move to a different floor. If the doors don't lock, the elevator won't run. Some door related issues might be as follows:

Elevator continues to open and close the doors but won't leave the floor to answer a telephone.

Elevator won't close doors in any respect.

The elevator starts to close the door but won't close completely.

Elevator doors seem to be closed but the lift won't move.

Using some basic observations abilities, a number of these issues can be remedied without the expense of calling your elevator supplier. Some secure and simple solutions for these issues are given below.

Check for debris or garbage in the bottom of the door in the door sill. The door sill guides the base of the door to keep it from being pushed into the lift shaft. Guides fit within a groove from the sill.

The clearance in these grooves is minimal and it requires very little to shake the door so it won't close properly. I've discovered everything out of pocket change, bottle caps, paper, or even quite little screws wedged in the door sill.
