Do The Best Egyptian Cotton Sheet Brands Use Giza 45?

The short answer is yes, but I would rephrase it to "elite" instead of "best". There are many strains of cotton, and even within the Giza line, like Giza 88 and others on the market, there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye on first glance.

Egypt exports less than 5% of its ELS cotton, including all of the Giza and other classifications that are not named here. This also means that regular cotton grown in Egypt that is no different than American cotton is also included in that 5% that is exported. The amount of Giza 45 on the open market is very small and controlled to keep prices high and to take care of their own people first.

A single top sheet made from Giza 45 could cost as little as 500 to 600 US dollars and as much as 1,200 dollars. The average cost of a full set of bed sheets, pillow cases, and a duvet cover can set you back between 3,000 and 7,000 thousand dollars. Ouch!

Because these are elite sheets, the brands that carry them usually have better quality products across the board, such as high quality like Giza 45. It also ensures you are getting what you pay for when you deal with such quality brands.
