Best Snorkeling and Scuba Diving Spots in Byron Bay


Byron Bay is known for its beautiful beaches, but one should also experience the underwater marine life. If you like water-based activities such as snorkeling and scuba diving, here are some of the best spots to experience it.

  1. Julian Rocks Marine Reserve – This is one of the best sites for swimming along with Great Barrier Reef’s species and other mammals like sea-turtle, manta rays and wobbegong sharks. Julian Rocks Marine Reserve is just a 5minute boat ride from the town. There are tour providers who offer scuba diving and snorkeling activities with the necessary equipment.

  4. Tassie Wreck III –Tassie was a ship which used to supply ammunitions to Americans. Unfortunately, the ship got wrecked at the end of World War 2, and today, it offers a great spot for snorkeling.
